Vote for Bison Jam at cheezburger: [link]

Bison Jam in Yellowstone, from one of my original photos.

Bison here are protected by law inside the national park and you cannot honk or roar your engine or do anything to them! So if they decide to enter the roadway, be prepared to stop and wait for them to pass off the road... however long that may be.

Do the bison ever bash people's cars, and how long can they take to move?

They actually could obliterate a car that is equal or smaller than them in size if they are provoked. But it is illegal to do anything to the bison in the park, such as messing with them. And not wise to get out of your car and approach them, they are a dangerous animal with a enormous skull that could crush a person.

Normally for a small herd of bison, they will move in 5-15 mins as I experienced. But I was told a large herd of bison (50+) crossing a street could take over a hour or more to move... as long as they don't sleep on the road.

Get out of the car? Are people actually that stupid!? I never understand those with no respect or sense around wild animals. Most you get over here is a fox or badger, and people feed the former by hand in the streets D= Cant use badgers as an excuse for being late to work though.

I saw one guy get out of his car and hide behind it to take a photo... He could have just put the camera out the window.

If he offended the bison in any way... the car would have not protected him anyways. >_<

In other parts of the park, I did see a black wolf, white rabbit, fox, bald eagle, and black bear. Didn't get a photo of the wolf though. It was at a weird angle far away.
